When planning a trip with a pet, the owner needs to take into account many nuances. This accessory is also necessary for short trips, for example, to a veterinary clinic, or tourist walks.

Taking a pet to the house, the carrier is guided by the established rules. These requirements are regulated by the International Association of Air Carriers (IATA). When transporting railway transport
It is allowed to place a container with an animal in places intended for baggage, if the sum of three measurements (length, width and height) does not exceed 180 cm.
In this case, the size of the container must correspond to the weight and size of the animal and allow it to stand in full growth without touching the ceiling, and turn around.
It is necessary to give preference to hard containers made of non-toxic materials (metal or plastic, solid tree). If during the flight it is planned to place the animal in the cabin of the aircraft, you can choose a soft bag bag. For transportation in the luggage compartment, only hard containers are allowed.

How to choose a carrier and accustom a pet to it
When choosing a carrier, pay attention to its design features:
- The container should be spacious enough to allow the animal to stand in full height. The distance from the highest point of the head to the ceiling is at least 5 cm. At the same time, it is unacceptable for a small animal to choose too spacious boxing. If the turbulence enters the container, the animal can start throwing from side to side, which most likely leads to injury
- The internal edges of the carrying are smooth and rounded to prevent an accidental wound to the animal
- Ventilation holes of such a diameter that the animal does not stick a nose or paws in them
- Access to the drinker and the feeder is possible outside. This is necessary so that you can fill them with water and food without opening boxing
Before traveling, start accustoming the animal to being inside the carrier in advance. Stick to the following tips:
- Introduce your pet to a new accessory in a playful way
- At the beginning of training, use your favorite treat by placing it near the entrance to the container. Let your pet come inside and eat a treat
- Each time place the treat deeper inside the box
- For a first hike or a short trip, go to a place that the animal has a pleasant experience with. Just not at the veterinary clinic!
- Increase the time spent inside the box gradually and do not leave the pet inside for longer than 8 hours
- Never use a carrier as punishment or lock an animal inside for educational purposes
