This ingredient, judging by the English name (RAW DebONed/Boneless Lamb), is a raw meat of a lamb without bones – the same thing as the "raw, non-war lamb. "As a rule, it is purchased in New Zealand.
Fresh salmon (Fresh Salmon) – clean, fresh, not decomposed by salmon (added to the food in whole or parts). The word "fresh", according to the manufacturer, means that the ingredient before the preparation process was not subjected to freezing and processing by preservatives. This guarantees the greatest safety of beneficial vitamins and trace elements in the finished product.
Salmon Meal flour is an increasingly frequent ingredient for dogs and cats. The difference between this product and less useful fish flour is that in its manufacture a specific type of valuable commercial fish is used – salmon.
Greek (buckwheat, buckwheat, buckwheat) – cereal obtained from sown buckwheat. Greek is quite satisfying and contains a lot of plant protein, fatty acids, fiber, iron and magnesium. Moreover, it has a low glycemic index.
Fresh Pumpkin is the best option from derivatives. This is a valuable dietary product, a natural source of fiber beneficial for the intestines (consumed in moderate quantities), vitamins and minerals.
Crc cartilage is connective tissues surrounding mainly joints of cattle, which include cows, buffaloes and other representatives of large-bunken large sizes.
Tsukini is rarely found in feeds for dogs and cats, especially in fresh form, which additionally emphasizes the manufacturer in the name of the ingredient. Of course, zucchini, a variety of which is Tsukini, added to the food without any processing, retains the maximum possible number of vitamins and useful enzymes.
This is a rare component of finished food for dogs and cats, although the horns of the northern deer have long been used in pharmaceuticals. The most valuable panta are considered – the “young” horns covered with the skin, and not fully ossified and dropped by the animal.
Dried apples (Dried Apples) – dried whole fruits or their pieces.
Brown Rice is regular rice, but unpolished. Good source of complex carbohydrates. Rich in proteins, thiamine, calcium, magnesium and potassium. Virtually gluten-free – suitable for animals prone to allergies or intolerant of gluten. The glycemic index of brown rice is 50, which is lower than that of white rice, so this type of grain does not cause a sharp jump in blood glucose after a meal and is recommended for diabetes, as well as overweight animals.
This ingredient is sunflower oil familiar to everyone, rich in Omega-6 fatty acids, vitamin E, magnesium and other useful substances – only the latter are much more in cold-pressed oil. It is produced from sunflower seeds, which are pressed and heated to a maximum of 45 degrees.
Flaxseed (Linseed, Flaxseed) is one of the most valuable plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids, soluble fiber, vitamins, antioxidants and minerals. These seeds are not considered a cereal and are part of most wool vitamins. In the composition of cat and dog food, they can be crushed or present in their entirety. From the given name of the ingredient, it is impossible to understand in what form the manufacturer used them.
Yucca Schidigera is a plant of the Agave family. It is usually added to feed to reduce the smell of excrement. And yucca is quite capable of coping with this task, since the substances contained in its composition successfully fight bacteria, contributing to the normal functioning of the intestines.
Spirulina is a highly nutritious blue-green algae, an infrequent component in the composition of prepared feeds. If added to the diet, then in dried form and in a fairly small amount. There is evidence that during heat treatment, most of the beneficial substances of spirulina are lost. How beneficial Spirulina can be in dogs and cats at such low doses and after multiple treatments remains unclear.
Brewers Yeast contains 50% protein, 25-40% carbohydrates, up to 3% fat, as well as many other useful substances, including B vitamins. Brewers yeast are accumulations of single-celled microorganisms – yeast fungi Saccharomyces cerevisiae, whichdifferent from those used in baking.
Despite the exotic and attractive name, this component is an inexpensive variety of fish oil. The oil is usually the catch of the Peruvian anchus – a small fish of the Anchous family, in a huge number of chili and Peru living near the coasts.
Salmon oil fat, or salmon oil, has a number of useful properties. High-quality salmon oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, including DHA (daily acidic acid) and EPA (eicopascentenoic acid), which have a beneficial effect on all organs and systems of the body.
Jerusalem artichoke, aka Earth Pear and Sunny Root – an unusual root crop. Although it is believed that Jerusalem artichoke can serve as an alternative to potatoes, it is practically not used as a source of carbohydrates, in particular starch, and vegetable protein in dry animal feeds. And if they add, then in a very small quantity, and it serves, like the root of Tsikoria, the source of the useful prebiotic of inulin, which helps to maintain the optimal balance of beneficial and harmful bacteria in the intestines.
Chicory Extract (Chicary Extract) is obtained only from the root of the plant, so it can still be called the Extract of the Root Extract.
Miko Karb is a technological supplement of the Belgian brand Kemin Europa N. V.. It does not allow mold and harmful bacteria in feed and feed raw materials, so it is used in dry diets for dogs and cats, as well as for feeding cattle and poultry. The main valid components of this additive are taken in certain acid proportions (propionic, fuma and sorbine) and ordinary table salt.
A mixture of extracts from rosemary, turmeric, grapes and sisigiuum is most likely used in the stern as a source of natural antioxidants and serves to preserve the diet. This is much better than some synthesized substances, and speaks in favor of the food manufacturer. In addition, extracts (concentrated squeezes) contain the maximum amount of nutrients contained in these plants and feeds.
Vitamins and minerals (Vitamins & Minerals)- most likely, it is a comprehensive vitamin-mineral premix that includes the necessary vitamins and minerals, micro- and macro elements.
Calcium is a chemical active metal of silver-white color, one of the most common minerals on our planet (it is contained in the earth's crust, in water and, of course, in living organisms). More than 90% of calcium in the body of animals falls on the bones and teeth with which this metal gives hardness. However, for the full growth and formation of bone tissue, calcium should be absorbed by the body in a certain balance with phosphorus.
Phosphorus is a mineral substance, the exact connection of which in this case is not indicated. Most likely, this is the salt of phosphoric acid – for example, calcium phosphate, since it is phosphates that are usually added to agricultural and pets feed. As part of the finished feed, phosphorus is not always indicated separately. It can be part of vitamin-mineral premixes, and are also contained in corn, oats, meat-bone flour and fish flour and bones.
Omega-3 and Omega-6 are the most important substances related to unsaturated fatty acids that can enter the body of dogs and cats only with food.
Glucosamine (Glucosamine) is a polysaccharide that fastens the "bricks" of the cartilage fabric of the animal. He envelops the joints with lubrication, relieves inflammation and reduces soreness. Glucosamine is added to the food for dogs and cats to prevent joint diseases in healthy animals. The body is normal to produce glucosamine independently, but at certain moments it may not be enough.
Chondroitine is a structural component of cartilage tissue of animals, an important substance for the prevention and treatment of diseases of the joints of healthy animals. The body of cats and dogs is normally able to synthesize chondroitin on its own, but at certain moments it may not be enough, and you have to add with a diet.
L – Carnitine (L – Sarnitine) is a vitamin-like substance that is formed in the liver of all mammals. It is the most important participant in the metabolism of fat, delivering fatty acids to cells, which in the course of the further process turn into energy.L-carnitine and the work of the heart promotes, the uninterruptedness of which depends on the timely delivery of fatty acids.
Unfortunately, the body of carnivorous animals practically cannot synthesize vitamin A (retinol) from beta-carotene, which some plant products are rich in, and should receive it either in the composition of meat products (liver, fish, eggs), or in a synthesized form, in the formvitamin additives. It is not clear from the name of this ingredient in which combination of substances Vitamin A is added, it cannot be present in its pure form.
Vitamin E, like vitamin C, is a natural antioxidant that prevents oxidation of fatty acids, vitamins (especially A) and some other nutrients, allowing you to store dry feed for a long time without losing their nutritional value.
Vitamin D (calciferol) is the general name of a group of fat-soluble biologically active substances. One form of this vitamin – D2 – enters the body only from food, the other – D3 (cholecalciferol) – is formed in the skin after exposure to ultraviolet radiation. But not in cats and dogs. They learn this vitamin exclusively with food. The richest sources of calciferol: fatty fish (herring, mackerel), eggs, fish oil and liver.
Vitamin B2 refers to water-soluble vitamins of group B and is one of the most important participants in the biochemical reaction on which all organic life is based-the redox process. In addition, this vitamin plays an important role in mastering fats, proteins and carbohydrates, as well as in the production of red blood cells, hemoglobin synthesis. Vitamin B2 is especially necessary during the growth of kittens and puppies.
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) (Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) belongs to a water-soluble group and is extremely important, since with its help in the liver the enzyme is developed in the synthesis of amino acids, the main "building material" of proteins. Vitamin B6 is partially produced in the intestines with friendly microorganisms, but it comes to a greater extent with food.
The ingredient is a synthesized vitamin supplement, a source of thiamine necessary for animals. Pets, who are fed with “home” food, non-industrial production, must necessarily receive vitamin B1 (thiamine, aneurin) from natural sources (for this they need to be accurately balanced).
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) (Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)) – belongs to a water-soluble group and is one of the most important substances in the body of mammals. With its shortage, the normal formation of connective and bone tissues is impossible, the development of some hormones, the work of almost all organs and systems of the body. Vitamin C enters the body of cats and dogs only with food.
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) in structure is very similar to nicotinamide (vitamin B3 or PP). Pantotenic acid is involved in the exchange of proteins, carbohydrates and minerals. Thanks to it, the growth and development of puppies and kittens normally proceeds, the condition of the cardiovascular and nervous systems improves, the liver functions better, and the barrier properties of the intestinal mucosa are also enhanced.
Choline chloride (vitamin B4, choline, choline chloride) is an important element of cell membranes (as part of phospholipids). Being a component of lecithin and acetylcholine, vitamin B4 regulates fat metabolism and protects the skin from dehydration. Unfortunately, the body of animals synthesizes it in insufficient quantities and the “gaps” are necessary through food or artificially.
Vitamin B9 (folic acid) (folic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin that is responsible for the quality of the blood and is involved in the formation of tissues of the nervous system. In dogs and cats, folic acid is only partially produced by intestinal microflora, so pets (especially cats) need to receive vitamin B9 from food – it becomes active only during digestion.
Biotin (vitamin H) is also known as vitamin B7, Coenzyme R (Vitamin B7 (Biotin, Vitamin H)). This is a water-soluble vitamin of group B. One of the most important vitamins for healthy skin and shiny wool, also directly affecting the correct functioning of the nervous system. Animals, especially cats, should receive biotin with food, since their intestinal microflora produces it in insufficient quantities. Biotin is most often added to ready-made food for dogs and cats additionally.
Vitamin B3 (niacin, nicotinic acid, nicotinamide, vitamin PP) (Niacin, Nicotinic Acid) is a water-soluble vitamin of group B. Vitamins of this group are vital for animals to maintain the normal activity of cells and tissues, although the body cannot synthesize most of them on its own. So, if dogs get at least a little niacin from the amino acid tryptophan, cats naturally do not have such an opportunity – which means that they urgently need to “extract” this vitamin from food.
Iron is an indispensable component of hemoglobin, which saturates the blood with oxygen, and myoglobin, which performs the same work in the muscles. This trace element plays an important role in cellular respiration and is actively involved in the redox reactions of the animal body. Natural sources of iron for cats and dogs are liver, meat, fish, poultry, and organ meats.
Calciumd-pantothenate (d-calcium pantothenate) – calcium salt ofd-pantothenic acid, white fine crystalline powder. It is a source of not only calcium, but also pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). Calciumd-pantothenate is involved in the activation of metabolic processes in tissues, improves the energy supply of the contractile function of the heart muscle, and improves the course of recovery processes in the body.
Copper (Copper, Cuprum) is naturally found in various proteins and enzymes. It is very important for the body of animals, despite the fact that it is required there very little. This trace element is indispensable in the process of mineral and carbohydrate metabolism, as well as in the liver. Copper is usually added to feed in the form of salts – copper oxide (the most difficult to digest), copper sulfate, as well as amino acid chelate and copper proteinate (the most easily digestible forms).
Zinc (Zinc) is found in the body in minimal concentrations. It is responsible for the metabolism of vitamin A, the formation of keratin and collagen proteins (essential for the skin and coat of animals) and wound healing. Most often, zinc is added to feed in the form of salts – zinc oxide, zinc sulfate, as well as in the most bioavailable forms – zinc proteinate or chelate. From the name of this ingredient, it is not clear which compound, in this case, is the source of zinc in the food.
Manganese is a trace element involved in more than 300 metabolic processes. Belongs to the number of minerals-antioxidants, protects cells from the effects of free radicals. Along with calcium and phosphorus, manganese is an important component of bone tissue and animal teeth. Most often, manganese oxide, manganese sulfate and manganese proteinate are used in feed composition.
Cobalt is involved in hematopoiesis, activates many enzymes (arginase, phosphatase) and hormones. The maximum cobalt can be found in cereals, vegetables, meat and its derivatives, for example, in meat and bone meal, as well as in yeast.
Iodine (Iodine) is a trace element, which, although in small quantities, is absolutely necessary for dogs and cats. It is an indispensable component of thyroid hormones, necessary for growth, development and regulation of metabolism. In dog and cat foods, iodine is usually added in natural ingredients (eg, seaweed meal) or in the form of synthesized compounds (eg, calcium iodate).
Selenium is a trace element that is necessary for the body of dogs and cats in small doses, and toxic in large doses. Acts as an antioxidant, preventing free radicals from destroying cells – thereby maintaining the elasticity of the muscles and slowing down the aging of the body. Natural selenium is sufficient in meat, offal, fish and seafood.
The health of our dogs is of great value. I would like each owner to understand at least a little how it can be preserved and what a big role pet food can play in this. Ready-made food manufacturers are committed to helping dog owners successfully address these issues by offering products with various beneficial properties, such as joint support, cartilage and bone tissue. One of these diets will be discussed in this review. It was interesting for us to evaluate the features and key characteristics of the dry dog food "Be Healthy" with lamb meat for adult dogs of all breeds and sizes from a American manufacturer – after all, as they say, the name obliges a lot!

Consider packaging
Like other products presented on the American market by the Zhivaya Sila company, Bud Zdorov dog food with lamb is available in two granule formats (small and large), but with the same composition. This is the first time we see such an idea from manufacturers. We must admit that this is quite convenient. This food can be purchased in four packaging options – 200 g each, 2. 5 kg each, as well as large bags of 10 and 20 kg, so each owner can choose the packaging that is convenient for him.
The design of the best dog food storage container is made in white, brown and orange shades. Different dogs are depicted on a white background around a large logo – one is playing, the other is eating, the rest are just posing.
At the bottom of the best dog food storage container on a brown background are five icons that tell the buyer about the features of the composition of the Be Healthy feed: these diets contain the usual Omega-6 and-3 fatty acids, chondroprotectors for the joints, useful spirulina algae, vitamins E and C and do not contain at allreal gluten from wheat.
On the best dog food storage container of this ration there is a special yellow identification sticker with a barcode and an image of the silhouette of a lamb. The sticker allows you to distinguish the product with this type of meat from the rest of the "Be Healthy" food options for dogs – after all, all diets are packaged in bags of the same design and differ only in color marking. We agree that such a production process allows great savings in the design and production of packaging.
The reverse side of the best dog food storage container is provided with a lot of information that was useful for us to create a card and description of the food "Be Healthy" for dogs with lamb on our resource. There are both compositions and guaranteed analysis of the entire line of feeds (two Bud Zdorov products for puppies, four for ordinary adult dogs, one for especially active dogs and one for the elderly), as well as tables with a detailed indication of the composition of the additional premix and feeding norms.
The table of feeding norms, on the one hand, is very detailed, even includes schematic drawings of six breeds of dogs of different sizes and indications of dosage features at the time of growth, pregnancy and lactation, and on the other hand, it can confuse the owner. Nowhere does it say that puppy food dosing advice applies specifically to this product. On the contrary, it turns out that all dosages are given relative to food for adult dogs, and this is not very convenient.
Feed base
It is pleasant that the name of the food on the packaging (“lamb”) is consistent with reality – this product really contains 18% of the lamb meat, and fresh, this is the Ingredient No. 1 in the food.
You should know that there are other sources of animal protein: place No. 2 belongs to a fresh salmon (10%), and then flour is indicated from the same type of fish in a share of 8%. Both lamb and salmon components are worthy sources of animal protein.
Two plant products are closed the first five – crushed buckwheat and fresh dining room. As in other diets of this brand, the fractions of carbohydrate components on the label are not indicated, and this would be important and useful information.
What else is part of the “be healthy” feed for adult dogs?
It is interesting that the product contains a whole brown rice, but it is either very small (it is located in the list even after flour from the horns of the northern deer and dried apples), or this is annoying inaccuracy in the order of the ingredients. It is original that even ground fresh cartilage catfish here, according to the procedure for indicating the ingredients, is much larger-they are in 6th place in the list of composition!
As a review of the composition of the food “Be healthy” for dogs with a lamb shows, fiber comes into it not only from the already indicated fresh dining room of pumpkin, but also from fresh zucchini, all the same dried apples and flax seeds. There are also quite familiar variants of prebiotics – MOS and phos from the root of Qicoria and Jerusalem artichokech additives are useful in terms of the balance of intestinal flora and help the body successfully absorb nutrients from food.
Sources of fatty acids in the composition of three are sunflower oil, anchose oil (3%) and salmon fat. All of them are quite high-quality, however, what they are canned, the food manufacturer does not report.
The manufacturer indicated on the best dog food storage container the exact dosages of glucosamine and chondroitin per kilogram of the product. It is good that they are added to the diet, especially for large dogs, this is useful. True, a healthy organism is quite capable of producing these substances for the joints independently, without additives. If the dog does not have a musculoskeletal system in order, then the chondroprotectors in the daily stern will not serve a panacea in any way-a visit to a qualified doctor, examination of the pet and obtaining clear recommendations is required.
As preservatives, the manufacturer chose a mixture of acids under the commercial name “Miko Karb” and a mix of plant extracts (turmeric, grapefruit, sisigium) as a source of natural vitamin E.
The list of vitamins and minerals added to each kg of food “Be healthy” with a lamb for dogs should be watched in the second column of the table on the package.
Information about spirulina, beer yeast, each vitamin and mineral supplement, and in general, you can find out about any components of this product in the base of the ingredients on our website, clicking on its name in the list of composition given above.
Dry dog food "Be healthy" with a lamb: Analysis results
The overall assessment of this diet is 32 out of 55 maximum possible points: this is due to the fact that due to a sufficiently high carbohydrate content, which is quite easy to calculate according to the guaranteed composition (about 43%), the product receives a fine of 5 points. What are the pros and cons of our analysis of dry dog food “Be healthy” with a lamb for adult dogs?
The composition of the food, in our opinion, could be more meat to comply with the concept of “comfortable meat”, which the manufacturer declares on the package. In our opinion, to equate food in which meat and fish 36% of the total share of raw materials should not be for real meat – it is rather like artistic exaggeration.
Nevertheless, the diet differs in a number of pluses – the complete absence of wheat and soybeans, useful prebiotic components and the complete absence of foggy ingredients with common names. The food “Be healthy” for dogs of all breeds with a lamb in its rating still falls into our category “Four with a plus” – in comparison with many products, this is a commendable result.
